Happy Birthday Copic And Blends Lavender Card

Armed this week with my (new to me) used set of Copic Sketch markers, this week's color challenge was a fun experiement.  The Lots Of Lavende SAB FREE (with $50 purchase) stamp set was a good match for this weeks colors. This week's colors were: Pear Pizzazz, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White. and here is the inspiration image:  

The experiment was to use light colored layers of Copic to increase the overall depth of color achieved when mixed with the Blends. In addition, Blends come in one green, Old Olive, which doesn't come even close to Pear Pizzazz. Copic G43 combined with YG61 made a nice version of Pear Pizzazz.  To mimic Tranquil Tide, five markers were used, three light Copics with flicks of the light and dark Bermuda Bay Blends. The overall finished look has the depth I was after making the experiment a great success! I ended up getting a tiny flaw on my Tranquil Tide mat, which was easily hidden underneath Stampin' Up!'s current glitter dots. The lightest blue glitter dots were a nice contrast and look more like opal in real life. 

The sentiment is from a retired clear mount set " And Many More", I lost two sentiments from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set -  which are sadly, the two most used ones, Merry Christmas, and  Happy Birthday, alas, this project needed a very small Happy Birthday.

Finally, being without any of the Stampin' Up! fancy dies, I created a stitched rectangle using my Scan N Cut 2. I would have used the Stampin' Up! Stitched Oval if I had it. In addition, the Scan N Cut 2 did a great job of fussy cutting the lavender bouquet.
