June 2019 - Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Male Sketch

We have recently returned to our home area in the US. Normally you would think that is a good thing, but what it means for us is work, and family visits. This leaves little time for crafting.

Our return coincided with the new annual catalog launch, and my order of new products sat in the box begging me to use them. Finally, I managed to stop just long enough to make a project for this month's Stampin' Dreams blog hop.

The theme is a masculine sketch. I love sketch challenges! I didn't have to spend a ton of time coming up with the basic design. And I knew it needed to be masculine which limited my product choices even further.

Here's the sketch: 

This card is constructed using products from the Sailing Home suite. The DSP, die cuts and the memories and more card pack worked together nicely. In addition, I challenged myself to use a sentiment from the card pack which includes thick die cut sentiment stickers. The angled background was tricky to cut, but overall the project was quick and easy. Having matching products to choose from really sped up the process.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch, altering the sentiment shape and placing it low to leave the north end of the compass uncovered. The three aligned dots are silver metallic pearls. I really like how this came out and I cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with. I wonder if someone will have a card design that is close to mine. I have yet to see it happen, but you never know.
