Floral Vellum Kindness Card
I have had this particular project in my head for some time. I finally had the opportunity to work through my idea and make it into something beautiful.
I envisioned a petal pink background, behind the Floral Romance DSP floral vellum. Before I pulled out a piece of petal Pink cardstock, I flipped through all of the papers in the Floral Romance DSP and saw a Petal Pink with white and gray flecks DSP that looked perfect for this project. For all I know the DSP designer intended the two to work together. Here is a picture showing what the under layer of DSP looks like.
I wanted a vertical card, but the sentiment I chose was wider than long, so it ended up a horizontal card. I cut an oval using the second largest stitched oval shape and when I stamped it with Blackberry Bliss ink, it was so dark on the Petal Pink cardstock that it looked dark brown. I cut another oval and tried Rich Razzleberry which came out much better.
I recently had to restock my envelopes and I earned enough for a free SAB item. I chose the Velvet Rich Razzleberry trim. I saw the 2x next to it, but did not know what it meant. It was literally 2 rolls of the velvet trim for FREE. I am so happy! The velvet trim was applied behind the Stitched All Around Label but I thought it looked a little on the thin side so it was doubled up to achieve the look I was after. The velvet trim color is a slightly lighter than the Blackberry Bliss cardstock and looks perfect.
I cut the leaves from Champagne foil and finished up the project with gold metallic pearls. When I trimmed the background I left a 1/8 top and bottom border of Blackberry Bliss for added interest and something a little different from the normal four sided mat. Here's the funny thing about this project, I do not like Petal Pink at all, but for some reason, that is what I had in my vision. And I love how it turned out!
