Frogs & Flies Anniversary Card
I am not sure how it happened, but I totally forgot my mom's anniversary. That is to say I did not have it written down on my little calendar! It ends up that my mom and her husband are sick and they BOTH forgot their anniversary. They also had a huge snow storm blow through that week which was a distraction. The snow was so deep that my mom's suv tunneled through the snow. They live in a private residential area and must not have a snow plow service. It rarely snows enough to worry about snow there.O
Once she alerted me I got to work immediately. She and her husband are animal lovers so I pulled out the frogs from Sale-A-Bration. I've seen the Dot to Dot embossing folder used for the frogs, but I have seen it in green and I wanted a bright card so I chose Real Red.
I used Well Said and Well Written to create the sentiment and also chose the leafy die which I cut in Granny Apple Green. I heat embossed the word "anniversary" in white on black cardstock.
I colored the frogs with light and dark Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. I then used the dark Basic Black Blend marker to darken the edges around the frogs. These were electronically fussy cut with no white border, but a little white here and there still showed.
The flies were colored with light Smoky Slate, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue with Wink Of Stella applied over the top. I hand fussy cut these and did leave a little white showing to save time. I added the flies to the outside of the envelope. Boy did this come out cute!
I chose to make a slanty Daffodil Delight mat and then the stack was mounted to a white card base.
