My first ODBD Shining the Light Challenge Winner

I have worked on my card making skills for almost two years now (I have kept track of my start date, Im kind of weird that way - April 2013). The first time I entered a challenge I was so nervous! I started with Split Coast Stampers challenges because I had spent some time with that group in the forums and knew them to be kind and welcoming. In addition you get lots of feedback on their site and I needed the feedback!

All went well and finally last summer (over a year later) I picked a favorite supplier to enter their challenges. Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) was my choice. Why? because their products mean alot to me from a spiritual perspective and the end products that customers make are so elaborate and beautiful. I knew if I entered their challenges I would be pushed to make beautiful, well designed cards which happens to be my favorite style of card to make. I struggle with clean and simple designs and find the more elaborate designs are easier for me.

I spent the last six months entering their challenges and won the random gift certificate drawing twice. This of course enabled me to expand my ODBD collection so I could make MORE cards. Fast forward to January, and this particular card was picked by ODBD as their customer card of the day. What a thrill that was. They sent me a link through my Zineth user account at SCS. To click that link and see an entire blog post talking about my creation was an awesome feeling. I am very proud!

So now for the ODBD monthly Shining the Light Challenge in which I had entered this card. it was chosen as the winner. WOW! I hope that by talking about my card making journey, others will be inspired to pursue their creativity and really stretch themselves in whatever manner best suits them! I've linked the original blog post for the winning card, the story about this card is a bit sad, but it has certainly served its purpose which was to cheer me up! Thanks so much for visiting.
