Gold Embossed Fall Thanks Card

I've had this Stampin' Up stamp for awhile now. I really like it and always wanted to use gold embossing powder with it. I was making more ombre style backgrounds and created this really pretty fall colored one using Rusty Hinge, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso. I then took some new metallic ink and sponged it over the top and loved the resulting soft shimmer. I mulled over what to do with it and recalled the Stampin' Up thanks sentiment.

After applying the sentiment and heat embossing the gold. I thought it lacked contrast so I used water to lighten the letters, then added Rusty Hinge. On the outside of the letters I added Ground Espresso. I trimmed it out and edged the paper with Ground Espresso. I wanted a very thin mat of gold glitter paper. I had two choices, one was a chunky pattern and the one I went with is a much smaller tighter pattern (I am glad I had multiple choices of glitter paper to choose from). I found some enamel dots in fall colors, these were purchased at some point prior to my DIY enamel dot project. I am glad I found them because they match perfectly!

I then popped up the sentiment edged in gold on a thick dark brown mat. I trimmed down the base to a custom size to fit the sentiment.
