I'd finished the other cards and did not feel like I'd explored all of the options with this flower set. I really wanted to do a sponged masked CAS style card. I thought these bold flowers would look nice over a sponged background, but I did not want to do my typical full sponged background.

Daring myself to be different, I masked leaving a 2" vertical strip of space (I discovered that we have no painter's tape in the trailer so instead I used rectangular shaped post it notes). I sponged sky using Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky.  I purposefully left the top and bottom unmasked, envisioning the sponging feathering to nothing.

The stems were stamped with Distress Ink Bundled Sage and for the flowers I chose one of my new metallic Brilliance inks Crimson Copper that actually dries a metallic plum. I color matched the flowers with recollections cardstock. I toyed with making the sentiment navy or plum, but felt brave and I stamped it with the metallic Crimson Copper. I did not feel the need for any embellishments with this card.
