Grey and Yellow Wedding Card
My husband's long time friend is getting married on Saturday and we are traveling. That means I get to make and send a wedding card. Since it is primarily from DH to his male friend I wanted to make the card mostly masculine, but still pretty and a tiny bit feminine. This week's Creative Cat Crew Color Challenge #17 is a perfect balance of masculine and feminine. Here is the image used for inspiration:
This weeks color range is Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White. I used Bloomin' Heart's main heart die, cutting it in Smoky slate and then made a card front in Whisper White by cutting out the heart. I then found a dark gray cardstock to use as a background and adhered the white to the grey after trimming a very thin bit of white off so that there will be a 1/16" inch mat of the dark gray.
I glued in the Smoky Slate die cut heart. Next I cut out a bunch of Daffodil Delight and Whisper White flowers, both small and large. I formed the top small flowers making them slightly cupped. I adhered the white and yellow flowers on the heart and added clear rhinestones in the centers.
I then put the card front in my MISTI and using a great sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams I used Basic Gray and then offset large yellow and small white flowers, cupping the white flowers. I added clear rhinestones to the centers. DH approved the final design and it is now ready to mail out.
