Wetlands Birthday Greetings Card

I made this project for my Father In Law's birthday coming up in January. You might be thinking, wow, now thats some pre-planning! Reality is that I had wanted to make this card for him for this January, but I could not find the seabirds stamp. I looked everywhere for it. Keep in mind I live full time in a 33' fifth wheel and am very, very organized. It was not to be found.
Fast forward to the craft retreat I just attended. A demonstrator had some half of retired stamp sets and one was Wetlands. Ooo, I could replace my seabirds stamp. So I walk it over to my table and my cohort in crafting crime Libby says to me, now that you found a replacement I bet you will find it. OMG, not an hour later I open my stencils bag and start sifting through my many stencils and sure enough, there is that silly seabird attached to the back of one of my stencils. HAH! Boy did we get a laugh out of that. So back to the sale table went the Wetlands set.
So here I am now back from the retreat and I just had to get to making this card! I was inspired by this Pinterest card here->https://www.pinterest.com/pin/65724475790443867/.
I changed up the card some. My focal image uses a darker brown and the sentiment is the Birthday Greetings also in Brown which I stamped on the focal layer in lieu of making it on its own layer. I used Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip and Island Indigo. The enamel dots on the focal layer are my own DIY dots I added these when DH said he thought it needed something more..
The background was made using a Timeless Textures stamp and I started with A2 size Whisper White cardstock. Starting in the top left corner with full Island Indigo ink I stamped down, reinked again, moved acrosse and stamped down again until it just crossed the diagonal. Then I stamped Chocolate Chip from the bottom right up and across diagonally. This was then trimmed down per the Pinterest image to leave about a 1/2 inch of Whisper White cardbase on top and bottom just like the Pinterest card.
I matted the focal in Island Indigo instead of brown. I do not own the Stampin' Up! twine but found some that I could pull apart to mimic it. I stamped the flap of my envelope with the seabirds in brown and indigo. I think my FIL will like this card alot!
