I bought the Painted Poppies bundle based on the sensational pins I saw during pre-release. So on January 3rd I swapped out another bundle for this one and I am so glad I did!

I started with a pin I liked -> link to pin. The project was created using an aqua painter. I knew I would be using Blends Markers and thought it would be a fun challenge to repeat this look using them. I used similar colors for my first attempt, changing them up just a bit.

Here are the markers I used:

  • Light So Saffron
  • Dark Daffodil Delight
  • Light & Dark Mango Melody
  • Light Pumpkin Pie
  • Light Cajun Craze

Here is the order in which I completed each step:

  • Colored the flowers
  • Sponged the background
  • Splatters
  • Touched up any of the above three.

Note: you can repeat each step as many times as needed, the Blends and dye inks will not affect each other in any way. They layer nicely.

I had a grand time using both sizes of splatter stamps. The trick to a good area of splatter is to rotate your stamp. You do not want repeats right next to each other. The dotted clear gems were darkened with a dark Basic Black Blends marker. I used a light Cajun Craze Blends marker to color the linen thread.
