What this? Another Retreat!

Watercolor Wishes | Tracy Marie Lewis |

Yes! Another retreat has come and gone. I had an opportunity to go to a Mother's Day weekend retreat. The timing was perfect for me because we chose that weekend to list our home and being gone meant that I did not have to leave for every showing. I worked on 5 projects in the 3 days. I brought two Stampin Up kits, Watercolor Wishes and Tin of Cards as well as a Simon Says Stamp kit from last...

Bird Crazy Anniversary Card

Publish Date:

I have been watching Tim Holtz Bird Crazy projects on Pinterest with great interest. I knew that I wanted to create some fun cards using these stamps and Copic Flourescent Sketch markers. I collected all of the materials to take with me at the Mother's Day craft retreat last weekend. I spent a whole day coloring birds and accessories. Then I made a couple of cards.

This card is for my...

We are listing our home to sell it and this weekend was the "purge". I FOUND it! So now here we are exhausted on a Sunday evening and I took a picture of it (before I pack it away) to post.

I really, really like this die...

Stampin' Up Camp Cards | Tracy Marie Lewis |

In March, I attended my third Stampin' Up Stamp Camp. I enjoy these events because there are multiple demonstrators and each teaches one or two projects. I get to use alot of SU products in one day and I get to visit with my crafting friends. Here's the run down of the projects.

My favorite was the tri-fold art. I own the stamp set and liked the clever use of punches for the feet and...

Yellow and Pink Floral Flip Card

I love the gloss and glitter accents on this card stock. I used the card base die and because this cardstock is so thick, I did not feel the need to start with a solid colored base and add this design cardstock as a second layer. The result is very clean. I cut a bunch of flower dies in matching cor'dinations cardstock. I added opal and silver accents withViva pens. The sentiment is from a...

Silver Belt Buckle Thanks Card

Belt Buckle Thanks Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

I have been very involved in the horse industry for oh 25 years now. In the early 1990s I showed at Zone and Open shows, but by the mid 1990s I was competing at the AQHA breed level and later switched to reining so also added NRHA shows.

When I saw this spellbinders group of dies I knew they would make perfect simulated belt buckle cards. I own S5-077 Labels 25 and use S5-210 Adorning...

Teal Metallic Christmas Tree Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

I make Christmas cards all year round. I like to have a good cushion of them for the fall craft bazaars and of course to give to family and friends. This card was made from DCWV metallic 6 x 6 paper and a Recollections Design paper pad. I stamped a very small Merry Christmas on a blue vellum tag and tied it to the matching baker's twine.

One more Christmas card made now is one less to...

Happy Easter Summer Pony and Bunny Card

Happy Easter Summer Pony and Bunny Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

I colored this on Sunday during a big wind storm. I don't have any children in my life that would appreciate this type of card so I will send it to my mom. The pony is the same color as her Rocky Mountain horse. That mousy color with blond mane and tail normally only found in ponies, is one of the key characteristics of a Rocky Mountain horse (picture of one shown below).

I colored this...

Make A Wish Upon A Star Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

I decided to challenge myself with the Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) bingo color challenge AND sketch challenge. If that wasn't enough I then told myself to go look at the SCS Thursday ways to use it challenge and no matter what the topic, I was going to do it! I figured I was in for a really wonky result. I chose the right most vertical row of colors: Red, Brown, Purple and sky blue from the...
