I continued my quest to use supplies that I've not yet used. I found a Stampin' Up set that has alot of small stamps and I had a great time using it. I took one of my cut down white cardstock pieces and stamped it up with a bunch of random stamps. I knew I wanted to use red and blue since it is US Independence Day week and all. For inks, I used Night of Navy, Early Espresso and I did not have...

Pine Trees Merry Christmas Card

Pine Trees Merry Christmas Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

This project uses masking to create snowy hills. It is now mid-year when I start to think about building up my Christmas card stash to avoid a late year flurry of card making. I hadn't tried this technique for some time and had Stampin' Up's Lovely As A Tree stamp set out. I kept the card very simple, no extra embellishing. I chose a sentiment from my Christmas sentiments and am not sure what...

Thinking Of You Tree Watercolor Card

Thinking Of You Tree Watercolor Card | Tracy Marie Lewis an independent Stampin' Up demonstrator

I have had this project on my to do list for some time. The Sheltering Tree Stamp Set from Stampin' Up is one of my favorites. I recently played with inking up a block for a background with another set and knew I wanted to do the same with this set. I stayed with colors from nature, green and blue for greenery and sky.

I also wanted to shave a clean and simple (CAS) look for this card....

Sponged Floral Thinking Of You Card

I'd finished the other cards and did not feel like I'd explored all of the options with this flower set. I really wanted to do a sponged masked CAS style card. I thought these bold flowers would look nice over a sponged background, but I did not want to do my typical full sponged background.

Daring myself to be different, I masked leaving a 2" vertical strip of space (I discovered that...

Wood and Flower Card #2

Wood and Flower Just A Note Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

For the second version of this card I wanted a teal thin mat. I also picked a different ribbon material, crinkle. This background was actually a "reject" and I fixed it by sponging the edges with Early Espresso. I also used a reject flower focal image that I'd accidently stamped the flowers in taupe, then offset that with the teal. After pondering whether it could be used I decided it was just...

Wood and Flower Card #1

Wood and Flower Great Day Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

When I pulled out the flower stamp set, I also pulled out a background that I have never used. Yup, I have a wood plank 6 x 6 that has never been inked. I inked it up using Stampin' Up Early Espresso. I had color matched recollections cardstock to Stampin' Up's Tip Top Taupe.

I knew I wanted the bottom half of the card wood. I used Stampin' Up Island Indigo for the flowers and Tip Top...

Black and Tan Smile CAS Card

Black and Tan Smile CAS Card | Tracy Marie Lewis |

I made this project in conjunction with the previous post. the background was a stamp off of an acrylic block using Stampin' Up Tip Top Taupe. i chose to make this very CAS sans any ribbon. I was very tempted to add more than just the leaf sprig but refrained for fear I would ruin it. I chose the swirly smile sentiment from Happy Snippets.

I am entering this project in the following...

Black and Tan Keep Smiling Card

I wanted to try my hand at a distressed parchmentish looking card. I picked a smaller acrylic block and covered it with Stampin' Up's Tip Top Taupe ink. I like how the edge ink makes it look like a frame. I made a second stamp off for a lighter look and used the leaf. I then used Memento Black ink for the flower. For the ribbon color match I chose Copic Sketch E44. This was the first time...

Orange Flower Thinking Of You Card

As we get close to moving to our next location, I wanted to work on some cards, but did not want to make a big mess. I thought if I just use one set of stamps, no dies and pick one style of embellishing I could keep the mess to a minimum. I plan to send these out to my card crafting buddies so wanted to keep them nice and flat for mailing.

Armed with the stamp set by Stampin' Up -...

Gold Embossed Fall Thanks Card

I've had this Stampin' Up stamp for awhile now. I really like it and always wanted to use gold embossing powder with it. I was making more ombre style backgrounds and created this really pretty fall colored one using Rusty Hinge, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso. I then took some new metallic ink and sponged it over the top and loved the resulting soft shimmer. I mulled...
