September 2018 Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

Today I am joining the Stampin Dreams blog hop where we are sharing our favorite technique. My name is Tracy Marie and I travel full time with my husband. We just departed from our "home" area in the Pacific Northwest for Florida. It will be quite the trek. We are heading there so I can attend this year's 30 year Stampin' Up! On Stage celebration event in November. I am so excited! It helps that my husband also wants to visit Florida, so we plan to stay there for a couple of months. I hope you like my technique and project. Be sure to follow along the rest of the hop for more inspiration. Feel free to leave comments, all of us along the hop love to hear from you!

My favorite technique, by a large margin, is coloring with alcohol markers. This year Stampin' Up! released their new alcohol marker product line called "Blends". I've used Copics for years now and feel I am an advanced colorist. I find the Blends very easy to use and they have a unique nib configuration which is great for smaller projects. I tend to color full 8 1/2 x 11 size projects more often with my Copic Sketch markers because they cover a larger area and are not the easiest to use for smaller images. This is where Stampin' Blends shine. They are designed for smaller projects with a bullet nib, and it also comes with a larger brush nib as well. I just love them!

Spirited Snowmen By Stampin' Up! | Tracy Marie Lewis | www.stuffnthingz.com

This project uses products from the new holiday catalog that just launched on September 5th. I have the complete supplies list below.

Blends colors that I used are as follows:

Hats: Black Lt/Dk (Light/Dark), Night of Navy Lt/Dk
Scarves: Old Olive Lt/Dk, Cherry Cobbler Lt/Dk
Heart and Hat Band: Poppy Parade Lt/Dk, Real Red Lt/Dk
Belt: Night of Navy Lt/Dk
Arms: Bronze
Snow: Smoky Slate Lt/Dk (Copics C1, C3*)

*There is only one tiny issue that I have with the Blends, in certain cases the light is not light enough. I do use the color lifter to lighten colors, but in the case with the snow, It was safer to grab the two lightest cool gray Copics.

I hope you like my project.  Don’t forget to leave a comment before you hop to Anastasia and see her lovely project. Just click on the NEXT image below. If you get lost along the hop, you can use the blog hop list below to help guide you along.
