I continued my quest to use supplies that I've not yet used. I found a Stampin' Up set that has alot of small stamps and I had a great time using it. I took one of my cut down white cardstock pieces and stamped it up with a bunch of random stamps. I knew I wanted to use red and blue since it is US Independence Day week and all. For inks, I used Night of Navy, Early Espresso and I did not have a good current red so I used Watermelon Wonder that I'd received in a Stampin' Up kit.

I knew I wanted a touch of brown so made the sailboat base brown, to match the "rope", the wheel and the wood grain banner. I used a 1" punch to cut out the wheel. For the sentiment and the white rectangle I used Lil' Inkers stitched dies for more interest. When I cut the sentiment it was a smidge off and one corner showed a bit of white so I took my Night Of Navy spot and inked the edge to cover it up. The embossing folder is from Stampin' Up and is no longer sold.

This card stretched me since I am not a big fussy cutter and I had to cut out the banners, the lighthouse and sailboat. I have very bad hands, so bad, that I had surgery on them one year ago now. My hands are MUCH better than before surgery, but I cannot stress enough the need for a good pair of small scissors called "snips" for fussy cutting. I have used many kinds and have found the higher end snips are a must.

I am entering this project in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave comments or questions, I am here to help!

For someone who's not a big fussy-cutter, this is amazing!  All of your efforts paid off because this is really beautiful.  I like your goal of using supplies you've never used before (I am SO guilty of that) and I love how you went with a nautical theme.  You did an amazing job here and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
