This card appealed to me but I felt it could use more detail. I really do not like 1/4" layering. For me the thinner the better. So with my version I added a black layer to the banner element. The only other change I made was adding DIY Enamel dots. Other thoughts if I wanted to take it one step further would be to add glossy accents to some of the confetti on the outside. I just realized I did not do anything to the inside, but it looks pretty good already, I do like the center die treatment of the inside of this card.

If you use alot of tape, there is a knock-off brand out there. I've used it and it is only ok....

In December 2015, I had a rare opportunity to be creative without limitation (well except for what my body was able to handle). I had major surgery which was a 9 to 12 week recovery. The surgery was scheduled well in advance so I had time to make a game plan of projects I would work on while rehabbing. DIYing my own craft materials was at the top of my list.
About 2 weeks after surgery...
BONUS UPDATE: My cohort in crafting crime brought me her "altered" version of this card. We both weren't thrilled with the subject matter. You can see it below, it is the last picture. I like that she took the provided brown base and ran it through with a wood grain embossing folder. Then she used a generous amount of dark brown sponging on both the base and the pink. I like her vertical...
This is my favorite card from last month's Stamp A Stack (SAS). I like everything about this card and would happily give it to a loved one exactly as it was finished. However, that is not the purpose I set forth to complete. To add more to this card, I really distressed the edges of the embossed layer and took my Holtz Picket Fence Distressed Dauber to the edges.
I swapped out the...
Today I am going to post another Stamp A Stack card. This is a card that I liked. I like narrower frames, so first thing's first, I trimmed off some of the coral mat for a 1/8th edge.
But, that was not enough, it needed a little something more. I wanted to make bubbles. I looked at a variety of embellishments that could achieve the bubbles look. What I decided on is not a papercrafting...
This is my final Stamp A Stack (SAS) card re-do. My friend just asked me if perhaps re-do'ing these cards is somehow offensive. So I want to explain a bit more about my own concept of changing someone's design from a paid for event. First of all I enjoy these events. I go as much to make new projects as to visit with my crafting pals. Yes by signing up for the event I am signing up to be...
